Every city or village there are people in communities who have been happy and living life at certain quality standards and you will find people and communities that are sad and typically live, bare and naked, alive though.
A creation of the supreme power, where and why this disparity exists will be never known. Nothing, since and exploring this fact of naturecan ever be taken as the answers that, are never to be found.
Simple, in life you are successful & rich or unsuccessful & poor. But, one thing in common is many of us depend on nature and its gifts. Plainly speaking for the poor, anywhere in the world, the nature and its gifted offerings was a boon and the only source of livelihood. For ages, now these natural resources, which provided the source of bread to the poor, were put to optimum usages, thanks but no regards. Use it; Living on it continues to be the fact.
A group of people tucked far way in a remote area in Karnataka, an area well known as one of the bio-diverse hot spot zones of the world, the Western Ghats of India. Though- We understand that the destruction of environment arose from the fact it was a consequence of people trying to take out a livelihood. We are the people telling them not to destroy the environment brought back on one single question. "How will I live?"…
…Welcome, to read what these people did to find a solution.
After a few years of sharing thoughts and conceptualizing answers, Kadamba was “seeded” with conviction and confidence that it would bear fruits in future. In the year 2001, Kadamba was registered as an NGO under the Indian Trust Act., with a base in Sirsi, Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka State, in India.
A NGO, with the objective to actively work in 360 degree Integrated Community Development Projects backed by a vision to create simplified, strategic and measurable result-oriented social development projects with the mission to provide the poor who depend on the environment around with all the basic needs to make a living, a simple & happy life of their own.
The starting point was at a nearby Child Crèche Centre. The mission was to adopt and provide simple basic facilities to the children by way of food, clothing and education. After few months, we got the feedback that, not just the kid’s needs, but their parents and other people in the community where the crèche was located should be paid attention.
A basic poor community living needs of housing, medical care, money, training, employment etc. This was a challenge, the needs were profound and multi dimensional but the fact was real.
We sat and re-visited our starting vision. The output of brainstorm and group thinking was simple and straight, fulfilling all the needs to a community was the answer to our vision,
“INTEGRATED SOCIO-ECONOMIC COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT”.
…...Thus, we took the needs of the community one by one
